A Sharer is anyone who creates a listing (session/course) on the SparkOn platform to share their skill, talents and experience with others.
A Learner is anyone who uses the SparkOn platform to book sessions/courses set up by sharers to learn from them.
Anyone! We believe that each one of us has learnt a lot through our life experiences. If you would like to share what you have learnt, go ahead and list a session. You don’t need to be an expert to share your knowledge. You just need to have the expertise.
A user on our platform can be both a sharer and a learner using the same account.
You can choose any topic that you think you have sufficient knowledge about. The sky’s the limit. From our experience, there is always someone who might be looking for what you are sharing.
Yes! We are compiling resources to help you on your journey of sharing and to help you build a great course or session. In the meantime, you can get in touch with us through our contact us page and we will help you out.
As a Sharer you can arrange group sessions as well as individual sessions. As a learner you can choose an individual, one to one session or group session/course as available.
As a Learner
The quality of the Sharing Sessions can be determined by reviews and ratings of other users. You can also assess and select Sharers based on the information provided on the listings such as session description and their profile.
You can write a review for the Sharer to provide factual feedback for future learners. If you have any further concerns, please contact us and we will endeavour to resolve your queries.
Paying through SparkOn means your payment is secure as funds will only be released to the Sharer after the completion of the Session. Also, cancellations and refunds are easier for both you and the sharer.
If you wish to cancel your booking, you can do so by simply going to your dashboard. You will find your upcoming sessions in your Manage Listings where you can select the option to cancel. You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to the indicated session time, in this case you will receive a full refund of the amount paid.
As a Sharer
At SparkOn, we believe that everyone has something to share – skills, knowledge, passion and experience. For every skill that we can share, there is someone looking to learn from us. There is no need for any proof of certification to start sharing on SparkOn, unless it is legally required for what you are teaching. Instead, highlight and elaborate on your real-life experiences and expertises in your profile and listings.You must complete your Profile in order to become a Sharer. You must also add a payout method in Dashboard > Payments & Payouts so that you can receive your payments for your listings completed.
No. You can create as many listings (session/course) as you want on SparkOn for free.
What you charge for a session is totally up to you. We recommend starting with a free session and then taking it from there. While we do not control how much you charge for a particular session, our goal is to benefit as many people as possible, so we recommend keeping the prices reasonable.
As a Sharer on SparkOn, you have the flexibility to assign different values to your time; for example you can choose to charge a higher fee for a weekend lesson as compared to a weekday morning. You can choose to give your first session free by choosing the “free” option and charge for subsequent sessions.
This feature is in keeping with our vision to be inclusive and make learning accessible for all. Pay what you can allows the learner to pay any amount they can afford, above the minimum set by the sharer while creating a listing.
It’s a great way to find Learners interested in what you have to share. Learners can review your listing and recommend it to other learners; if your listings are good, their testimonials will show it. SparkOn offers a secure payment method, funds are transferred before the course, but only paid after the course. If you are disappointed in the course, or if you have complaints, we will first look for a solution before transferring the funds to the sharer.
You can focus on what’s important – sharing what you love! By keeping your booking & payments in the Sparkon app, we take care of your bookings, scheduling, checking if your payments have been received, and cancellations and refunds.
If you have bookings for your session, you will have to cancel the session and create a new one with your new date.
You must have provided the information regarding your bank details in your Dashboard > Payments & Payouts section to receive your money. When Learners book your listing, they pay SparkOn for the total amount listed. The amount (after deducting platform service fees) will be credited to your wallet 7 days after your listing has been completed. You can request for the amount to be transferred to your payout method in the payout section of the dashboard.
